Dr. med. Peter Caspari
His personal background
Born and raised in Munich, Dr. Peter Caspari pursued his medical studies in Lübeck (Germany) and Innsbruck (Austria). He received his doctoral degree for an experimental work which he accomplished in cooperation with the company Draeger Safety. Following this, he had various publications appear in scientific journals and books. Dr. Caspari began to practice as a surgeon, in 1993, in the surgical department of Nordseeklinik in Westerland, on the northern German island of Sylt. From 1995, he further improved his knowledge in heart, thorax and vascular surgery at LKH Klagenfurt in Kärnten/Austria, and in 1998, Dr. Caspari took up plastic and reconstructive surgery at AKH Wels in Upper Austria.
In 2001, Dr. Caspari went on to establish himself as plastic and aesthetic surgeon in Germany, as he took up practice in the departments for plastic surgery and hand surgery at LMU Munich. In collaboration with the department for plastic and reconstructive surgery of AKH Wels, in 2002 and 2003, Dr. Caspari also obtained official recognition as specialist in Austria. Since September 2003, Dr. Caspari works at his specialist clinic for plastic and aesthetic surgery in Munich.
His Motto: Lifelong learning
This counts for Dr. Caspari's professional as well as for his private life. Consequently, he considers advanced trainings to be an essential element of his practice as specialist surgeon. Being a physician and developer of treatments designed according to the patients' needs, the participation in specialist conventions and active membership in the associations for plastic and aesthetic surgeons are and will always be priorities for Dr. Caspari. During his time in Upper Austria, Dr. Caspari had the chance to participate in advanced trainings all over the world, and, thus, was able to learn from the leading specialists in the respective fields of plastic surgery. “This time was a very intense experience, which helped me to make incredible progress.”
The global networks with international physicians, Dr. Caspari established during this time, present an ideal foundation enabling him to constantly implement the newest scientific findings into his work - to the benefit of his patients.
Within his specialty, Dr. Caspari covers more than 10 different fields of plastic surgery. In 2000, he participated in Prof. Dr. Boehler's hand surgery training in Vienna, completed an advanced training in burn surgery from the German association of plastic surgeons, at Hanover Medical School, and performed in-depth studies of aesthetic eye surgery under Prof. Dr. Bruck in Berlin. Dr. Caspari shared highly valuable experiences with his American colleagues when he visited the American Academy of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery in New York and through the participation in the Symposium on Cosmetic Surgery in Miami in 2001. The multiple national and international advanced trainings in the fields of rhytidectomy, treatments of dynamic facial wrinkles, Botox (C) treatments, and holistic anti-aging methods are used to provide the best possible basis for today's work in the specialty clinic. Along with congresses for plastic surgery in Vienna, Bregenz, Bad Aussee and Leipzig, between 1998 and 2001, the International Congress of Facial Plastic Surgery of the Royal College of England in London, in 2004, was a milestone of scientific expertise Dr. Caspari was able to obtain - and which serves now to the benefit of his patients. Last, but not least, job shadowing at Dr. Wolfensberger's Swissana-Clinic in Zurich further contributed to Dr. Caspari's versatile expertise.
Dr. Caspari's Clinic
Situated in the heart of Munich, at the foot of vibrant Maximilianstrasse, the clinic impresses with state of the art equipment and a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout. Here, nothing reminds you of the cold anonymity of an ordinary hospital.
The holistic approach not only shapes the clinics physical appearance, but also the medical practice. Be it the medical assistant, who is a certified alternative practitioner, Dr. Caspari's holistic anti aging therapy with hormone replacement or vitamin supplements, or the seemingly tireless, round the clock, personal post-surgical care for our patients by the entire team – a stay in our clinic feels like a wellness holiday in a private and discrete atmosphere and not at all like a sterile surgical intervention.
The fully equipped operating room is specially designed for complicated and long operations. It was installed upon Dr. Caspari's precise specifications into the exact center of the star shaped clinic. “Well over 20 km of cable run in the suspended ceiling to provide for the best possible technical conditions. In this respect, we equal much larger clinics!”, so Dr. Caspari said. The two rooms for the patients are generously sized, and each one is equipped with its own bathroom. “We want our patients to feel like in a hotel - not like in a clinic!” Today, Dr. Caspari passes his experience gained in the construction of his luxurious clinic on to interested colleagues all over the world. At the moment, Dr. Caspari is actively involved in the establishment of clinics for plastic surgery in the United Arab Emirates.
The private Dr. Caspari
In his leisure time, Dr. Caspari is equally active. As an enthusiastic pilot, what has begun as a mere hobby, has virtually become a second job: Dr. Caspari regularly pilots charter flights of a private airline. In his free time, flights all throughout Europe have long been on his agenda. He was one of the first civilian pilots to cross the inner German border after the Fall of the Berlin Wall, and he flew over Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Jordan in a single engine airplane. “To fly across the desert at night – no radio contact, just stars for seven hours... these memories last forever!” “If I hadn't always wished to be a plastic surgeon, I would definitely have become a professional pilot – it's a pity that, with the clinic, I barely have time to fly”, so Dr. Caspari, reflecting on his hobby which requires intense studying.
